(TLP-2.171ff.) …"

„This pictorial form is what the picture must "have in common with reality, in order to be able to depict it – correctly or incorrectly – in the way it does" (TLP 2.17). Thus a "spatial picture" (the picture with the pictorial form "spatiality") can depict "anything spatial, a coloured one anything coloured, etc." (TLP 2.171)."

„A picture represents its subject from a position outside it..., that is why a picture represents its subject correctly or incorrectly. A picture cannot, however, place itself outside its representational form. (TLP 2.171 ff.) …"

„In the examples discussed prototypically above, in which the application of principle (b) resulted in a tabooed, inexpressible zone of the picture theory of propositional sense, "showing" can now be inserted: A picture cannot, however, depict its pictorial form: it displays it. (TLP 2.172) …"

„In TLP 2.172 f. with regard to the *picture* (the unrepresentability of the logical form of depiction) and – as its analogue – with regard to the *proposition* in TLP 4.12 (the unrepresentability of the logical form of the proposition): the proposition (1) "a is so-and-so long" has the logical form "spatiality"; this is accessible only through formalization, i.e."

„In general it follows that the de-formalization of the base "ξ" by the truth-operation corresponds to the de-formalization (1) of a name "Φa" to "Fa" (= "p") or (2) of a sign of generality "(x) Φx" to "(x) Fx". In this respect the propositional act of the positive proposition (of affirmation) must be essentially connected with the act of correlation of a name (of the "deictic operator") or of the sign of generality (of the quantificational operator): "*By my correlating* the components of the picture with objects, it comes to represent a state of affairs and now either agrees or does not." (NB 26.11.14) …"

„Which form one chooses evidently depends on the standpoint from which one makes a picture: this is the picture's "representational form" (cf. TLP 2.173), so to speak the pragmatic moment of depiction, which cannot be gone behind (cf."

„TLP 2.173), so to speak the pragmatic moment of depiction, which cannot be gone behind (cf. TLP 2.174). Pictorial forms are logical forms (cf. TLP 2.181 f.), since the picture can depict reality only if it has logical form in common with it (cf."

TLP-2.223, TLP-4.05) Sinn."

„In the relation between sense and truth there are, besides autarky (sense independent of truth) and bipolarity (sense that is essentially true-false), two further aspects: (3) sense *asserted* with regard to its claim to truth, and (4) sense "*compared*" with reality with regard to its claim to truth (cf. TLP 2.223, 4.05)."

„In the TLP the concept of logical form is discussed mainly (1) in the "*ontology*" passage TLP 1 to 2.063, (2) in the subsequent picture passage TLP 2.1 to 2.225 and (3) in the proposition-as-picture passage TLP 4.01 to 4.0641."
